The Thornhill, Ont.-based Canadian Life Insurance EDI Standards (CLIEDIS), the life insurance industry’s not-for-profit organization responsible for advancing electronic data exchange, announced on Tuesday that Darlys Corbitt has assumed the role of executive director from the retiring Julie Parrott.
Corbitt has spent most of her career in the insurance industry, working at sister firms London Life Insurance Co., Great-West Life Assurance Co. and Canada Life Assurance Co.
Corbitt has extensive experience in strategic and tactical planning, business systems analysis, business architecture and human resources management, CLIEDIS says in a news release. She has also helped her employers implement strategic technology solutions.
Corbitt has represented London Life, Great-West Life and Canada Life on CLIEDIS’s executive committee since 2013 and will be making the transition into her new role over the next few months.
“I am excited to be working with CLIEDIS, and its members, as the executive director, and look forward to continuing to promote the advancement of standardized data exchange across Canada,” Corbitt says in a statement.
“As the retiring executive director, I know that CLIEDIS will be in good hands,” says Parrott, who has been with CLIEDIS since 1998, three years after it was founded.
CLIEDIS was created with a mission of helping the life and health insurance industry develop and implement common data standards in order to improve efficiency and facilitate compliance.
