CIBC World Markets will be holding its annual Children’s Miracle Day on Wednesday, December 4.
On this day, CIBC World Markets sales and trading staff and CIBC Wood Gundy investment advisors will donate their fees and commissions to help children’s charities across the country. The annual event is one of the largest single-day fundraisers benefiting children’s charities in Canada. Last year’s Miracle Day raised $3.1 million in Canada alone.
The funds raised on Miracle Day work to support more than 350 children’s charities across the country that are dedicated to improving the health, education and well-being of children at risk or in need.
“There are more than 7 million children in Canada and many of them need help in order to improve their education, health and well-being,” said Susan Storey, chair of the CIBC World Markets Children’s Miracle Foundation and managing director of CIBC World Markets. “Miracle Day represents an extraordinary effort on behalf of our clients and staff to help children in need. Together we’re making a significant difference in children’s lives.”
“As a company, we believe it is critical that we invest in our future by supporting children in our communities,” said Storey.
Through Children’s Miracle Day, CIBC World Markets has donated more than $85 million to children’s charities in Canada and around the world since its inception in 1984. This year’s total will be announced on December 18 in Toronto.
