CI Financial Corp. has appointed Amit Muni to replace Doug Jamieson as chief financial officer, the firm said on Monday.
Muni, who will oversee the firm’s global finance operations and investor relations team, joins CI from U.S.-based ETF asset manager WisdomTree Investments, Inc., where he served as executive vice-president and CFO since 2008. He will begin his role at CI no later than May 31, the firm said.
CI CEO Kurt MacAlpine served as executive vice-president and head of global distribution for WisdomTree Asset Management before joining CI Financial in September 2019.
“Amit is a proven global CFO with an impressive track record of driving growth and delivering results,” MacAlpine said in a release. “I had the pleasure of working with him for four years and I’m confident that he will have a positive impact on the successful execution of our strategic priorities.”
Jamieson, who served as CI’s CFO since 2005, will remain with the firm until his responsibilities have been transitioned to Muni, the firm indicated. Jamieson joined CI in 1995 and held positions that included president and CFO of CI subsidiary CI Investments Inc. In November, Jamieson announced his intention to resign and pursue other opportunities.
Prior to working at WisdomTree, Muni served as chief accounting officer of International Securities Exchange Holdings, Inc., an electronic options exchange, leading its public offering in 2005. Muni also previously worked at PwC LLP, where he performed audit and business advisory services for multinational and mid-sized broker-dealers.
