Anish Chopra, managing director and portfolio manager at Toronto-based TD Asset Management Inc., is the new chairman of CFA Society Toronto, the organization announced on Thursday.
The Toronto branch of the CFA Institute also welcomed four new members to its board of directors.
“On behalf of the board of directors, volunteers and management office I would like to welcome our new board members,” said Chopra in a statement. “In the coming year we will be implementing a new strategic plan that will focus on improving member services and enhancing brand awareness of the CFA designation for CFA Society Toronto members.”
New members include Alain Bergeron, senior vice president of investment management and head of asset allocation at Mackenzie Financial Corp.; Vadim Gracie, director of investment risk management at the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System pension fund; Pamela Steer, chief financial officer for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board; and Marcus Turner, who has more than 20 years of senior experience in capital markets.
The members of the board were elected during a meeting on Tuesday.
