Jamie Brown has joined Canaccord Genuity Corp. as vice chairman of the firm and managing director of investment banking, according to a statement by Canaccord Genuity Group Inc. in Toronto.
Brown will be based in Vancouver and will focus on investment banking in the diversified industries, technology and life sciences sectors. He will also take an active role in supporting the firm’s investment advisor-oriented transaction business, leveraging deep expertise and relationships built during his previous tenure with the firm.
Between 1997 and 2013, Brown helped grow Canaccord Genuity’s North American business and served in senior leadership roles in both Canada and the U.S. Since 2013, he has focused on providing investment capital and strategic advice to growth companies in the technology, media, and life sciences sectors at an independent merchant bank based in Toronto.

Brown is a graduate with distinction of McGill University (BA), holds the Chartered Business Valuator designation and is registered in both Canada and the U.S. He currently serves as director and chairman of the audit committee of BC Hydro and as a director of Powerex, a wholly owned subsidiary of BC Hydro. He has served on the national advisory committee for the TSX Venture Exchange.
