The CLU (Charter Life Underwriters) Institute announced today the appointment of Cynthia Bowden, as chairwoman of its board of trustees. This is Bowden’s second term as chairwoman.

The appointment was confirmed at the annual general meeting of the Institute held in Banff, on August 23.

“It’s a real honour to serve another term as chair of the CLU Institute Board,” said Bowden. “This past year has been tremendously positive for the Institute and I look forward to working with the Trustees toward even greater success in 2007/2008.”

Bowden is a long-time member of Advocis, The Financial Advisors Association of Canada, since entering the field in 1979. She has been a member of CALU (Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting of Canada) since 1991. Along with her dedication to CLU and Advocis, Bowden is an active volunteer to numerous organizations around Toronto.

The CLU Institute is responsible for administering and promoting the CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) and RHU (Registered Health Underwriter) designations. The Institute is also the professional standards body for The Financial Advisors Association of Canada, responsible for administering and enforcing the Code of Professional Conduct.
