David Beatty is retiring as managing director of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance (CCGG), effective June 16.
“Although David will be stepping down as an active member of the board, his influence and the initiatives he started will continue. The Coalition has many things to thank David for and we wish him well,” says Doug Pearce, Chairman of CCGG.
Beatty joined the Coalition’s board of directors in April 2003 and was appointed CCGG’s founding Managing Director in May, 2003. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in developing the Coalition’s guidelines, promoting best practices and creating dialogue on governance issues.
“David has done a great job in getting the Coalition on the map and has achieved meaningful reforms for the benefit of all investors,” says Claude Lamoureux, former president and CEO of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and a founding director of CCGG.
CCGG has begun a process to appoint a new Managing Director.
