Britain-based banking giant Barclays PLC has named Jacquelyn Titus as managing director and head of the financial institutions group, Canada, in Toronto, which advises Canadian banks, insurers and asset managers.

She takes on the role on Jan. 21, joining Barclays from Goldman Sachs Group Inc., at which she covered the Canadian financial services industry. Titus also previously worked in private equity at Royal Bank of Canada and in corporate finance at Bank of Nova Scotia.

Titus will report to Bruce Rothney, CEO and country head of Barclays Canada, and Tom Vandever, head of the firm’s financial institutions group, Americas.

“Serving clients in the Canadian financial sector has been an important area of focus for Barclays,” said Vandever, in a statement. “Jacquelyn’s addition to the team will enable us to further build those critical relationships, and will ensure that we continue the strong momentum in our financial institutions group.”

“Jacquelyn has an outstanding track record, and tremendous relationships with Canadian banks, insurance companies, asset managers and fintech firms,” added Rothney in a statement. “We are very excited about the great value Jacquelyn’s international experience and proven abilities will bring to our clients. Her appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to bringing top-tier talent to Barclays so that we can provide clients with first-class strategic advice.”
