Bank of Montreal today announced the appointment of Don Wilson to its board of directors.

Wilson retired from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in 2006 as chief risk officer with responsibility for credit, equity, market, and operational risk globally. He was also a member of J.P. Morgan’s executive committee and operating committee.

Before becoming chief risk officer in 2003, he was J.P. Morgan’s co-head of credit and rates, responsible for derivatives, syndicated loans, bonds, structured products and emerging markets.

A Harvard graduate, Wilson is vice chairman of the Harvard College Fund, with other involvements including membership in the museum and archives committee of the United States Golf Association.

“He is a superbly qualified individual, who brings a broad competence in financial markets and all aspects of risk management,” stated David Galloway, chairman of the board, Bank of Montreal.
