Moncton, N.B.-based Assumption Life Friday announced the appointment of André Vincent as the company’s president and CEO.
Vincent will be assuming his duties on April 1. He succeeds Denis Losier, who announced his retirement in October after 19 years at Assumption Life’s helm.
Losier will smooth the transition by assisting the board and the new president and CEO until September.
“The wealth of his experience and professional background have prepared Mr. Vincent to tackle this major challenge,” says Gilles LeBlanc, chairman of the board. “His leadership will keep Assumption Life on the road to success.”
Vincent has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry. Before taking over the management of Assumption Life, he was vice president of group insurance for Quebec at Medavie Blue Cross beginning in 2008, where he was responsible for financial performance, sales, underwriting and disability management.
He has also worked for Desjardins Financial Security and Great-West Life in strategic roles, managing large teams of over 500 people.
Vincent holds an MBA from Concordia University. He obtained the chartered life underwriter (CLU) designation at the beginning of his career. He is chairman of the board for the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal (ECM+) and sits on the board for L’Arche Foundation of Canada.
Assumption Life offers products that include life insurance, group insurance, investments and mortgage loans.
