TMX Group Inc. has hired Ronald Alepian as vice president, marketing and corporate communications, the company said Monday.
Alepian will be a member of senior management and will have responsibility for marketing strategy, brand development, employee communications, media relations and public affairs.
“We have created a universal diversified exchange, with strong capabilities across the spectrum of exchange services. Ronald will help us further strengthen our domestic leadership position, expand our international footprint and reinforce the competitive advantage of our brand,” said Thomas Kloet, president and CEO, in a release.
Alepian spent close to a decade in the Montreal and Toronto offices of consulting firm National Public Relations, affiliated with Burson-Marsteller, where he worked on strategic assignments for some of the world’s leading brands. He led financial and corporate communications at Bell Canada and its parent BCE Inc. from 2004 to 2007, managing communications around some of the largest transactions in Canadian business. Most recently, he served as vice president of global communications and corporate marketing for Nortel, where he led global teams in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle-East, China and the Asia-Pacific region.
Born and raised in Montreal, Alepian is a bilingual communications and marketing professional and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Concordia University and a Certificate in Management from McGill University. He will be headquartered in Toronto, and will also have a permanent office in Montreal.
TMX group operates the Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, Montreal Exchange, and Natural Gas Exchange.
