TSX Group Inc. and The Equicom Group today announced the launch of a program designed to raise the profiles of public companies within the Canadian professional investment community through direct showcase meetings in major centres across the country.
“On the Radar” will commence in January 2007 and will provide issuers of both Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange with an unparalleled opportunity to present their management teams, growth strategies and investment drivers to the professional investment community across Canada.
“We believe that this service offering will be of tremendous value to our listed issuers,” said Richard Nadeau, vp of TSX. “Public companies in Canada are striving for more visibility within the capital markets and by teaming up with Equicom on this initiative we are creating an effective platform that accomplishes exactly that.”
“On the Radar takes Equicom’s existing program of investment professional forums to the next level,” said Barry Hildred, president of Equicom. “The involvement of TSX underscores the importance that investors and their representatives are placing on communicating directly with senior management.”
The “On the Radar” program will expand on Equicom’s very successful Professional Investor Forum infrastructure and will offer events twice a month in Toronto and Montreal with an intention to expand the events in Calgary and Vancouver commencing in the second half of 2007.
At each event, two issuers will present their stories to an audience of professional investors over lunch hour. Question and answer sessions will follow each presentation and each company will receive a feedback report and will have their presentation recorded and posted on both TSX and CNX Marketlink Web sites courtesy of CNX Marketlink.
