Toron Investment Management and AMI Partners have completed arrangements to join forces and have begun operating as Toron AMI International Asset Management.

Toron AMI is a, partner-owned, firm with investment capabilities in Canadian and global markets.

With $3.5 billion of assets under management for private and institutional investors, the combined organization is headquartered in Toronto with an office in Vancouver. The firm continues to serve its clients in Canada and abroad.

The merger unifies two predecessor companies (Toron Investment Management and AMI Partners) with recognized excellence in investing and roots reaching back more than 50 years.

The firm says it places a premium on conducting intensive original research in selecting investment opportunities. A focus on managing risks through disciplined processes, and in all market conditions, is a hallmark of Toron AMI’s approach to stewarding client capital.

“Together, we now offer integrated Canadian and global investment capabilities that have stood the test of time and in varying markets for our institutional and private clients,” says Toron AMI CEO and managing partner Arthur Heinmaa. “Our core strengths – which are reflected in prudent, disciplined and repeatable investment processes – are well aligned and will directly benefit those who entrust us with their capital.”

Toron AMI plans to expand its offerings to clients by pooling its expertise, and aims to become the independent manager of choice.

Cidel Financial Group, a leading international wealth and corporate services firm, has retained majority ownership in Toron AMI.
