TMX Group Inc. will launch its 2009 U.S. Campaign Wednesay with a live internet broadcast from the TMX Broadcast Centre in Toronto.
TMX says more than 170 people have registered for the webcast, which will cover raising capital on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange as well as cross-border legal and taxation considerations.
The campaign marks the third year that TMX has embarked on a listings roadshow in the United States. “TMX is continuing to invest in business development activities in the U.S. despite the difficult operating environment because we’re confident that our equity exchanges present an excellent financing alternative,” says Kevan Cowan, TMX Group head of equities. “Our sustained efforts will help ensure that American companies are aware of Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange when market conditions do improve.”
In 2009, the company will visit five cities – New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix, and Minneapolis — as part of the campaign.
Each information session will outline the prominence of TSX and TSXVenture as international resource equities markets and their expertise in financing, mentoring and supporting small and medium sized companies.
In addition, the company will also host specific events in the cleantech sector. The TMX Clean Technology & Renewable Power Forums will take place in Los Angeles on May 13 and in San Diego on May 14.
