The results are in for FP Canada’s inaugural Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP) exam.

The exam was written by 110 candidates on Nov. 23, 2020. The overall pass rate was 74.6%, according to a release.

For the first time, FP Canada gave candidates the option of writing the exam at a test centre or at home through online proctoring. More than 75% of candidates chose the online option.

“Kudos to the candidates who displayed exceptional dedication and focus to prepare for and challenge the November QAFP exam, in spite of all the unprecedented challenges resulting from the pandemic,” Cary List, president and CEO of FP Canada, said in the release.

In addition to passing the exam, QAFP certificants must complete a series of educational requirements and have at least one year of qualifying work experience. They must also adhere to the professional standards developed by the FP Canada Standards Council.

The QAFP replaced FP Canada’s FPSC Level 1 certification in January.
