Desjardins Securities today announced changes to its Toronto office management team following the departure of three senior employees.
James Gillis, who held the position of vice chairman, Toronto equity capital markets, is leaving the company along with Trevor Torzsas, vp and head of sales, Toronto equity capital markets, and Joseph Fiorini, vp and director corporate finance, Toronto investment banking.
Going forward, management of these various operations will be assumed by Jacques Nadeau, vice chair of the board, corporate finance; Beth Shaw, vp, equity capital markets and syndication; Paul Hardy, vp and head of trading; and Patrick Bartlett and Joseph Mackay, who are both vps and co-heads of research.
They will all report directly to Germain Carrière, president of Montreal-based Desjardins Securities.
“These changes will enable Desjardins Securities to strengthen its business operations in Toronto and benefit from a lighter, more flexible operational structure that is better adapted to the current difficult conditions in the financial markets,” said Carrière, in a release.
“I am fully confident that the talent and expertise of our Toronto team, at the management level and at all other levels of the organization, will continue to greatly contribute toward achieving our objectives.”
