TD Waterhouse Discount Brokerage today announced new commission rates for active investors.
All investors who place trades electronically and who meet minimum activity requirements will benefit from the new commission schedule, the firm says. Those who trade equities or options at least 30 times per quarter will enjoy flat fee commission rates of $9.99 per equity trade and $9.99 plus $1.25 per contract for option trades. The flat fee commission rate applies to both Canadian and U.S. equities.
Active investors can take advantage of these new low commission rates when placing orders using any electronic brokerage service: on the Internet through WebBroker, by phone using TalkBroker or TeleMax, or through TD Waterhouse Active Trader.
Clients who do not meet the minimum trade activity level will now experience one single and simplified commission rate schedule applicable to all of their electronic trade orders. Clients will continue to receive the same level of service that they currently receive.
The new rate structure comes into effect October 30, 2006.
