TD Bank Financial Group today released its fifth annual corporate responsibility report titled “Making a Difference Together.”
The report sheds light on TD’s performance over the past year in areas that matter to our stakeholders, beyond just financial results, and on the bank’s ongoing commitment to responsible and ethical business conduct.
During 2006, TD was named to the Jantzi Social Index, which is a screen of environmental and social indicators. Also, the most successful TD Canada Trust Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup was held with a record of over 40,000 volunteers cleaning over 2,080 kilometres of shoreline.
On the community front, TD again surpassed the Imagine Canada charitable giving target of 1% by donating 1.3% or $33 million in 2006 to more than 1,600 charities and not-for-profit groups in communities across Canada.
The corporate responsibility report conveys TD’s commitment to being a transparent and accountable organization and complements TD’s 2006 Annual Report to shareholders.
