TD Canada Trust’s internet banking site has been named “Best Consumer Internet bank for Canada” and “Best Consumer Integrated Site in North America,” as part of the “World’s Best Internet Banks” competition by Global Finance, an international financial magazine.
The award results will be announced formally in the upcoming September 2004 issue of the magazine. There will also be an awards ceremony on October 14 in New York City.
“Our priority has been to focus on the ease of use, the functionality and speed in which our online products and services can be used,” said Jeff van Duynhoven, vice president, electronic banking, TD Canada Trust, in a news release. “We’re thrilled to be identified as number one in the category of Best Consumer Internet in Canada and Best Consumer Integrated Site in North America. Many of our customers have already experienced the ease of banking online and we’ve known for some time that once people have tried it, they become enthusiasts.”
The bank was chosen among other entries across North America based on its strength of strategy for attracting and servicing online customers, success in getting clients to use web offerings, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives, and Web site design and functionality.
The competition was evaluated by a world-class judging panel consisting of representatives from TowerGroup, Bearing Point, Deloitte, Tata Infotech and Global Finance editors.
