Bullfrog Power today announced that 11 RBC Royal Bank branches in Alberta will be bullfrogpowered. This green power purchase, announced in conjunction with Bullfrog Power’s official launch in Alberta, augments RBC’s existing green power agreement with Bullfrog through which 12 Ontario locations became bullfrogpowered.
The new Alberta agreement further reinforces RBC’s position among the major commercial green power purchasers nationwide.
Bullfrog Power is a leading Canadian provider of clean, green power. In Alberta, Bullfrog Power sources power exclusively from local wind power generators that meet or exceed the federal government’s Environmental Choice Program EcoLogo standard for renewable electricity. Bullfrog Power provides businesses, non-profits, and consumers with a convenient way to support renewable power.
The 11 Alberta RBC Royal Bank branches are located in Calgary, Edmonton and four other centres.
With this expanded agreement, the total amount of green, carbon-free power produced by Bullfrog’s generation partners on behalf of RBC will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 1,700 tonnes annually.
“As RBC continues to grow in Alberta, we’re continuously looking for ways to reduce the emissions footprint of our operations,” says Bruce Mackenzie, regional president for RBC Royal Bank in Alberta & the Territories. “Using Bullfrog Power at many of these locations helps us toward this goal.”
