MFS Investment Management, a member of the Sun Life Financial group of companies, and the oldest mutual fund company in the United States, has turned 85 years old.
The company began in 1924 as Massachusetts Investors Trust, the first open-end mutual fund in the U.S., and in 1932 it established one of the first in-house research groups in the industry.
John Reilly, MFS senior vp, marketing/communications, joined by Sun Life executives, will be on hand to open trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Monday, March 23 to commemorate MFS’s 85th anniversary.
A part of Sun Life since 1982, MFS is a global asset management company that currently oversees more than five million investor accounts and has six research offices in key markets around the world.
