New York Stock Exchange member firms reported much higher year-over-year profits for both the full year and fourth quarter 2006.

NYSE firms that conduct business with the public reported fourth quarter after-tax profits of US$4.92 billion and revenues of US$93.38 billion, compared to US$1.49 billion in after-tax profits on revenues of US$66.15 billion in the fourth quarter of 2005.

For all of 2006, NYSE firms reported after-tax profits of US$13.58 billion on revenues of US$331.34 billion, compared with 2005 after-tax profits of US$6.14 billion on revenues of US$229.82 billion.
