Northern Financial Corp. has sold eNorthern, its discount online brokerage business, to Questrade Inc.
The company says eNorthern was a non-core division of Northern Securities Inc., a full service brokerage firm and wholly owned subsidiary of Northern. “eNorthern contributed an insignificant amount of revenue to the overall business of Northern Securities,” it says.
Terms of the sale, announced after markets closed on Friday, were not disclosed.
Toronto-based provides Canadians with high-speed, direct access trading in the U.S. and Canadian stock and options markets as well as forex trading.
Questrade is a member of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, Canadian Investor Protection Fund, and a participating organization of the Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange and the Montreal Exchange.
