The newly-named Investment Industry Association of Canada approved its first board of directors at its annual meeting in Whistler, B.C., on Sunday. Ross Sherwood, who was chairman of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada this past year, will stay on as chairman of the Industry Association. Sherwood is president and CEO of Vancouver-based Odlum Brown Ltd.

The other directors are: Peter Brown, chairman and CEO of Canaccord Capital Corp. in Vancouver; Jack Curtin, chairman of Goldman Sachs Canada in Toronto; William Hatanaka, chairman and CEO of TD Waterhouse Canada Inc. in Toronto; William Packham, chairman and CEO of Blackmont Capital Inc. in Toronto; Timothy Price, president and CEO of MacDougall, MacDougall & MacTier Inc. in Montreal; Philip Smith, managing director and head of investment banking at Scotia Capital Inc. in Toronto; Ian Russell, president and CEO, Investment Industry Association of Canada in Toronto; Ian Bruce, president and CEO, Peters & Co. Ltd, in Calgary; Kirby Gavelin, managing director at RBC Dominion Securities Inc. in Toronto; Lonsdale Holland, chairman and CEO of Beacon Securities Ltd. in Halifax; Luc Paiement, president of individual investor services at National Bank Financial in Montreal; and Gary Reamey, principal, Canadian operations at Edward Jones in Mississauga, Ont.
