RBC Financial Group announced Tuesday that Doce Tomic has been appointed as the head of Canadian wealth management distribution of RBC Investments.
Tomic succeeds Brian Peters, who was named president and chief executive officer of RBC Dain Rauscher. Tomic’s appointment is effective May 1.
“Doce has the ability to build strong teams,” said Reay Mackay, vice chairman, RBC Financial Group. “He’ll be working with our investment advisors, investment counsellors, trust officers, and Action Direct to grow their business.”
As Head of Canadian wealth management distribution, Tomic will be responsible for the full-service brokerage, investment counselling, trust, and self-directed brokerage businesses. He will also be involved with the private banking business.
Tomic has had a 14-year career with RBC Investments, and he was most recently responsible for the operations unit of RBC Investments’ Canadian businesses. Before his current assignment he was president and chief executive officer of Action Direct, the self-directed brokerage business.
Tomic was also a successful investment advisor and a branch manager for RBC Dominion Securities in Vancouver and Victoria.
He received a Finance Diploma from the BCIT, and is active in the community. He is a member of the RBC Investments Donations Committee, and is involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s fundraising, as well as other work with the United Way, the Make a Wish Foundation, and The Royal Conservatory of Music.
