RBC Capital Markets today announced that Joe Hamilton has joined RBC Capital Markets as the gold and precious metals analyst covering the North American gold producers.

Prior to joining RBC Capital Markets, Hamilton was a mining analyst with Dundee Securities and predecessor companies since 1997. He is ranked third in both quality of research and research ideas, and tied for second in client contact by institutional clients.

Hamilton, a geologist by training, worked a total of eight years as a mining industry consultant and in various management positions in mineral exploration and early stage development projects in both North and South America. He recently co-chaired the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada convention in Toronto, which attracted an estimated 7,000 people, as the premier global mineral exploration, development and mining conference.
