National Bank has released its 2005 Social Responsibility Report, which shows that bank was able to contribute close to $18 million to hundreds of Canadian organizations last year.

The contributions took the form of donations, sponsorships and other philanthropic activities.

According to Real Raymond, president and CEO, “businesses succeed by constantly endeavouring to meet the needs and expectations of all their stakeholders. The continuity of our financial institution therefore depends on our acting in a socially responsible manner while contributing to the well-being of the four pillars of our organization: our clients, our employees, our shareholders and the community.”

The 2005 Social Responsibility Report is available on the bank’s web site at www.nbc.ca.
