National Bank of Canada today announced that clients who use its Internet Banking Solutions can now transfer funds to another person via the bank’s website www.nbc.ca. The bank is the first Quebec financial institution to offer this convenient payment option.

Users can now transfer funds from their bank account to one or more persons in complete security. The only requirement is that both parties have an account at the National Bank. Clients can choose to carry out the funds transfer immediately or record it for completion on a later date

To access this service, the paying client must have signed up for Internet Banking Solutions from the National Bank. However, the payee need not be a subscriber or even have Internet access to receive the payment.

As Michel Lozeau, senior vice president — E-Commerce, points out, offering clients an easy way to bank via the Internet is another step toward the Bank’s goal of enhancing the quality of its service. “It’s a practical and safe way to pay people like the babysitter and the piano teacher or to send funds to a relative” he explains.
