At the annual general meeting held yesterday, Montreal Exchange (MX) shareholders elected their board of directors for 2007-2008.
In addition, board members reelected Jean Turmel as chairman of the board, and Carmand Normand as vice chairman of the board.
Richard Schaeffer was elected as a new member to the board for 2007-2008. Schaeffer is chairman of NYMEX Holdings, Inc., and the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc.
Two members are leaving the board of directors of the MX. James Kiernan, director, Cornerstone Capital Partners L.P., served on the board from 1994 to 2007. Brian Walsh, managing ,ember, Saguenay Capital, LLC, served on the board from 2004 to 2007.

- Laurent Verreault, chairman and CEO, Groupe Laperrière & Verreault inc.
Meanwhile, the MX board of directors declared, at its meeting held on March 12, a special dividend of $1 per issued and outstanding common share of MX (or 33 1/3¢ per common share as split on March 15, 2007), payable on April 12, to shareholders of record at the close of business at 5:00 p.m. on March 22.
