Manulife Financial announced today that it has been hired by Canada Post to implement its absence management program across Canada.
The contract represents the largest sale ever for Manulife’s group benefits business. Financial details were not disclosed.
“This program is a great example of how we continue to leverage our national disability management capabilities,” said Rick Brunet, executive vice-president of group benefits for Manulife’s Canadian division, in a release. “Manulife is uniquely positioned to provide a wide range of group benefits services and this is an important opportunity to again set ourselves apart from our key competitors and others in the industry.”
To service the contract, Manulife has opened a new office in Ottawa and will expand in four other offices across Canada, said Brunet.
