(August 24 – 11:30 ET) – Manulife Financial says it has signed an agreement to begin distributing individual life insurance, annuities and other individual products in Ontario through WCS Financial Services.
“This is a particularly good fit for Southwestern Ontario Region of Manulife Financial. WCS Financial Services has access to a group of independent financial advisors, who up to this point have done little or no business with Manulife Financial,” said Art Schooley, regional vice president for Manulife Financial in Southwestern Ontario. Under terms of the agreement, WCS will sell Manulife products through its agency offices in London, Cambridge and Toronto.
WCS offers a full range of competitive life, living benefits, segregated funds, employee benefits and mutual funds. It is a member of The Continuum Financial Group, a Canadian-owned, independent, national distributor of financial products and services. Continuum is a distributor of life insurance, disability insurance, group insurance, segregated funds and mutual funds with offices in Calgary, Edmonton, London, Waterloo, Toronto, Moncton and Halifax.
“WCS Financial is very pleased to be associated with Manulife Financial, a recognized leader in providing innovative solutions and products to the financial services marketplace,” said Mari-Jayne Woodyatt, president of WCS.
The deal with WCS follows an announcement earlier this year that Manulife will expand its sales and marketing capacity across Canada.
