FP Canada has awarded Lesley Poole with the FP Canada Fellow distinction, the certification body said in a release on Wednesday.
The distinction acknowledges those who have made key contributions to advancing FP Canada’s mandate to advance professional financial planning in Canada, the release said.
During her four-decade career, Poole worked as a financial planner and managed teams of planners for CIBC and HSBC.
She’s volunteered with FP Canada since 2014, including supporting exam development and administration, chairing the FP Canada Standards Council standards panel — her current role — and supporting the FP Canada Institute, the release said.
Among her many contributions, Poole helped develop the FP Canada Institute’s professional education program and the content for the Advanced Certificate in 3H Financial Planning, which helps certified financial planners with practical education they can implement at all levels of the financial planning process, the release said.
“We are delighted to recognize Lesley for her significant contributions to the financial planning profession in Canada,” said Tashia Batstone, president and CEO of FP Canada, in the release. “We applaud Lesley for her leadership and her passion to advancing the financial planning profession, and her significant contributions to FP Canada.”
