Intact Financial Corp. (TSX: IFC) Friday announced a number of changes to the roles and responsibilities of members of the company’s executive committee.
Louis Gagnon, currently president and chief operating officer, will become president, service and distribution. In his new role, he will oversee the development and the expansion of IFC’s direct operations — belairdirect and Grey Power — as well as the expansion of its proprietary distribution network. He will also continue to lead Intact’s claims activities and its international business development initiatives.
Mark Tullis, currently chief financial officer and senior vice president, becomes executive vice president, governance and capital management. As a result, he will oversee IFC’s finance, compliance, legal and audit activities. He will also assume greater responsibilities in the strategic management of the company’s capital by overseeing its investment management activities.
Louis Marcotte, currently senior vice president, strategic distribution, is appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Marc Pontbriand, currently president, direct to consumers distribution, will retire at the end of the year.
Given the successful integration of AXA Canada and Jevco, Jean-François Blais, president of Intact Insurance, will continue to lead the company’s development and expansion within the insurance broker channel by building upon its expanded offering, capabilities and expertise.
These changes will become effective December 1. Charles Brindamour continues in his role as chief executive officer of IFC.
