The Investment Dealers Association of Canada is advising members of a change to the registration procedure in Alberta.

Effective immediately, the Alberta office of the IDA will no longer grant conditional registration approval for 30 days, pending a criminal record search by the Alberta Securities Commission.

As a result, IDA firms are no longer to submit Alberta Waiver Letters with submissions to the National Registration Database in that province. This letter is being discontinued and removed from the IDA website.

The IDA says that this change won’t have any effect on the turnaround time for the review and approval of NRD submissions.
