The Alberta District Council of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada has imposed discipline penalties on David Leung, a former registered rep with Goepel McDermid Inc.

Under a settlement agreement accepted by the Council on November 19, Leung admitted that between July 1999 and May 2000, he engaged in personal financial dealings with his clients, and failing to disclose these dealings to Goepel McDermid or seek its approval.

The IDA fined Leung $10,000 and and ordered him to pay $3,500 in investigation costs. In addition, he must successfully re-write the Conduct and Practices Handbook exam and pay the disgorgement of profits earned in the amount of $3,966.89. Leung must also be under a 12 month period of monthly supervision.
