IA Financial Group has appointed Claude Sirois senior vice-president of real estate investments and commercial mortgages.

Sirois will be responsible for iA’s real estate holdings, which will include not only investments and asset management but also the commercial mortgages group.

Sirois will report to Alain Bergeron, executive vice-president and chief investment officer at iA Financial Group.

“Together, we will be able to enhance the performance of our real estate assets and accelerate the pace of our strategic growth in the sector,” Bergeron said in a Tuesday press release.

Sirois will also play a key role in managing a new business relationship iA announced Tuesday with Montreal-based property manager Canderel, which will be responsible for the operational management and maintenance of iA’s Quebec real estate assets.

Approximately 90 iA employees who manage real estate assets will transfer to Canderel and work out of the company’s Quebec City and Montreal offices beginning Jan. 1.
