Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) has announced the honourees for its President’s List, recognizing the top three candidates who wrote Financial Planning Examination Level 2 (FPE2) in December 2012.
Passing FPE2 is a key step on the path towards earning the internationally recognized certified financial planner (CFP) designation.
Among the 265 candidates across Canada who wrote FPE2, the following individuals earned a spot on the President’s List:
- Jennifer S. Harris, Coquitlam, B.C. (first place);
- Lindsey Whitehead, Sudbury, Ont. (second place); and
- Wesley Fong, Burnaby, B.C. (third place).

Harris, Lindsey Whitehead and Wesley Fong for their outstanding performance on FPE2,” saidCary List, president & CEO, FPSC, congratulated the trio and said, “They have shown an exceptionally high standard of professionalism, competence and judgment through their exemplary performance on this examination.”
Of those individuals writing FPE2 for the first time, 83% passed. Of the 265 individuals who wrote, 74% passed. The six-hour examination was held in 31 writing centres across Canada.
To qualify for FPE2, candidates must pass Financial Planning Examination Level 1 (FPE1), complete an FPSC-approved Capstone Course, be an FPSC Registered Candidate and complete at least one year of qualifying work experience. They must also commit to abiding by FPSC’s Standards of Professional Responsibility for CFP Professionals and FPSC Registered Candidates, which encompasses the FPSC Code of Ethics, the FPSC Rules of Conduct, the FPSC Fitness Standards, and the FPSC Financial Planning Practice Standards.
