VenGrowth Asset Management Inc. today announced that former U.S. vice president Al Gore will present on solutions for global warming at an exclusive event in Toronto next week.
VenGrowth, in association with affiliate Criterion Investments, presents An Evening with Al Gore at Toronto’s Hummingbird Centre for the Performing Arts on April 28. Tickets are by invitation only and the audience will include leaders from the local investment and business communities.
“Recent polls show that the environment is the number one issue for Canadians,” said David Ferguson, VenGrowth managing general partner, in a news release. “Al Gore has become the planet’s unofficial spokesperson on climate change and we’re delighted to bring him to Toronto to share an important global message.”
“Business leaders, entrepreneurs and investors are seeking to better understand environmental issues and how best to adapt,” added Ian McPherson, president of Criterion. “From our perspective, the investment opportunities created by greater environmental awareness are of particular interest. Education on the issues and tabling of potential solutions are the first steps, and Al Gore is playing a leading role in that respect.”
Founded in 1982, VenGrowth is a manager and distributor of value-added investment alternatives.
