Montreal-based Fiera Capital Corp. was named global equity manager of the year at the 2015 Professional Pensions Investment Awards in London, U.K.

The award, which was presented on Nov. 27, acknowledged Fiera’s global equities team’s success in producing its one- and three-year performance as well as the growth of assets under management for the year ended June 30, according to the firm’s announcement made on Thursday.

Fiera’s global equities team was awarded $2 billion in new mandates in the year leading up to June 30.

“We are humbled and honored to receive this award,” says Nadim Rizk, head of global equities at Fiera, in a statement. “It reflects not only an endorsement of our disciplined investment focus but also the market’s acceptance of a portfolio strategy which focuses on capital preservation, seeks out dominant companies that manage capital judiciously and delivers strong downside protection.”
