Fidelity Clearing Canada ULC, a provider of clearing, custody and back-office support services to Canada-based brokerage firms, Thursday announced that Todd Roadman has been appointed chief executive officer.
Roadman’s affiliation with Fidelity Clearing Canada is effective immediately. He will officially assume his role as CEO once all regulatory prerequisites have been satisfied.
A 13-year-veteran of the brokerage industry, Roadman most recently served as chief financial officer of National Financial, Fidelity’s U.S.-based clearing business. He is based in Toronto and reports to Sanjiv Mirchandani, president of National Financial.
Roadman succeeds retiring CEO William Henderson who has led the firm since April of 2010.
As CEO, Roadman will oversee client management, new business development, day-to-day operations, and new product and systems development.
Since the launch of the business in September of 2009, Fidelity Clearing Canada has established relationships with 20 Canadian broker-dealers.
Prior to his tenure with Fidelity Investments — which also included serving as vice president, distribution finance for Fidelity Personal and Workplace Investing — Roadman worked for E*TRADE Financial. During his tenure with the firm, which spanned from 1999 to 2007, he held various financial roles, the last of which was senior vice president, retail financial planning & business analysis.
