The Canadian Foundation for Advancement of Investor Rights (FAIR Canada) has announced the election of directors to its board at its annual general meeting in Toronto on Wednesday.
The Investor advocacy group elected 10 directors to its board for the coming year, featuring former regulators, academics, and consumer advocates.
In November, Ermanno Pascutto, FAIR Canada’s founder and first executive director, returned as chairman while veteran financial journalist, Ellen Roseman, became vice chairwoman following the departure of Neil Gross, the organization’s executive director.
The current edition of the board also includes Larry Waite, former president and CEO of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA); Guy Lemoine, a former regulator in Quebec; industry legend Stephen Jarislowsky; journalist and former investment advisor Preet Banerjee; Robert Pouliot, professor in the School of Management Sciences at the University of Quebec; Rossa O’Reilly, former president of the CFA Institute; Dawn Russell, president of St. Thomas University; and Marc Ryan, retired general counsel for Bell Canada and BCE Inc.
