The Ethical Funds Company has chosen Winnipeg to launch a series of socially responsible investing (SRI) roadshows for investors and advisors, entitled Money Is Energy.
The presentations in Winnipeg will be held at 5:00 p.m. for advisors and at 7:00 p.m. for investors at the Fort Garry Hotel at 222 Broadway on Wednesday, April 25.
The focus will be on educating advisors and investors on SRI and to introduce Manning & Napier Advisors, Inc., one of North America’s leading investment companies and portfolio managers of the Ethical Global Equity Fund and the Ethical American Multi-Strategy Fund.
“Each and every person can make a difference in our world through investing with their values and by seeing money as energy,” said Elaine McHarg, senior vp and chief marketing officer, at Ethical Funds. “Money enables activity and represents the ability to do something positive for our planet, such as helping to combat climate change.”
With the environment now top of mind for all Canadians, SRI is becoming a more mainstream investment option and, importantly, has proven itself to be profitable. According to the Social Investment Organization’s latest Canadian Social Investment Review issued just last month, SRI assets in Canada now stand at $503.6 billion, an increase from $65.5 billion in 2004.
Elaine McHarg will speak in Winnipeg about how investments can make a difference in our world and on how Ethical Funds works to make good companies even better corporate citizens. She will be joined at the evening presentations by Charles Stamey, managing director, Client Relations, at Manning & Napier. To register for the event, advisors and investors should go to www.moneyisenergy.ca or call 1-877-384-4225.
The Winnipeg event on April 25 will be the first in a series of Money Is Energy presentations that will take place in different Canadian cities in 2007.
