The trade association for exempt market dealers is looking to raise the profile of its industry by celebrating the top exempt market transaction for 2011.
The Exempt Market Dealers Association of Canada (EMDA) is seeking nominations for an award for the exempt market deal of the year. Nominees will be evaluated based on their contribution to the deal, vision, leadership, market innovation, impact, and the benefits of the deal for the issuer and investors, it says.
The independent members of the EMDA board will chose the winners, and present the awards at its conference in Toronto in June. The winners will receive public recognition and a logo for promotional use on their websites and marketing materials. The deadline for nominations is May 21.
“Our goal is to give national recognition to successful EMDs and raise awareness about the importance of the exempt market industry in Canada,” says Brian Koscak, chairman of the EMDA.
