Over 165 investment advisors at credit unions across Canada have earned the Wealth Consultant designation by successfully completing the Credential Wealth Management training program, Credential Financial Inc. announced Wednesday.
“The demonstrated expertise of an accredited Wealth Consultant can make a credit union member confident that when it comes time to look for services beyond mortgages and everyday banking, their trusted credit union is the place to stay,” says Kim Thompson, senior vice president, advisory services at Credential.
“This, of course, helps advisors and their credit unions gain a greater share of wallet and grow their business, while meeting the comprehensive needs of their clients.”
The CWM training program helps advisors gain a broader understanding of the needs of their clients by utilizing Discovery skills and tools, assisting them in uncovering all of their assets. Courses include the “Credential Wealth Core Training Course”, a four-day classroom session, and the more comprehensive “Credential Family Wealth Management Course”, a five-day course that coaches advisors on how to manage their book of business to maximize profitability and deliver a consistent experience to their clients. Participants are awarded the Wealth Consultant designation upon successful completion of the coursework, exam and assignments for either the Core or Family accredited training courses.
A new online CWM Training Course is also now available, entitled “Credential Wealth Foundation”, and as its name suggests, provides a solid foundation for generalists within the credit union wishing to pursue their “Wealth Consultant” designation.
