London, U.K.–headquartered Coller Capital Ltd., a provider of private equity and credit secondary funds, has opened an office in Montreal, the firm said in a release on Tuesday.
Daniel Cohen will lead the new office as head of Canada private wealth distribution, the release said.
Cohen was previously head of investor relations with Fiera Comox Partners, a global investment manager of private equity, private credit and agriculture.
Private wealth portfolios in Canada still largely focus on traditional asset classes, Cohen said in the release. “Secondaries are an ideal foundational building block for private markets portfolios, given their broad diversification, lesser volatility of returns and enhanced liquidity,” he said.
The firm said it has raised more than $130 million from private wealth clients in Canada through a Canadian mutual fund administered by iCapital Network Canada Ltd.
Coller, which the release said has $33 billion in assets under management, opened offices in Melbourne and Zurich earlier this year.
