CIBC dismissed several senior officers on Thursday as part of a continuing makeover of its retail banking division.

The moves come less than two months after the bank promoted Sonia Baxendale to senior executive vp, Retail Markets.

The departures in the retail division yesterday include Gerrard Schmid, executive vp and chief operating officer; Stephen Graham, executive vp and chief marketing officer; Kenn Lalonde, executive vp of branch and small-business banking; and Richard Graham, senior vp of strategic development at Amicus, the electronic banking division.

Steve McNair, executive vp of private wealth management and Imperial Service — a group of 1,200 investment advisors that work out of CIBC branches — retired.

Ted Cadsby has been appointed executive vp of retail distribution.

CIBC spokesman Rob McLeod confirmed the changes late Friday.

“These changes follow the integration of parts of our Wealth Management business – Imperial Service, private wealth management and our GIC product line – with Retail Markets that was announced two months ago.The management changes announced yesterday are aligned with this new business structure,” he said.
