On the heels of the March 8 publication of the Registrant governance and compliance guide by Quebec’s Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), the Council of Professionals in Financial Services (CDPSF) will be offering a new governance and compliance training course.

The training is poised to become an essential reference course for all Quebec financial services professionals and will present the AMF’s regulatory framework, expectations and best practices regarding governance and compliance.

The training will soon be available online on the CDPSF’s Conseil en Direct training platform.

“This training course was recently recognized by the Institut québécois de planification financière. The Chambre de la Sécurité financière should also confirm its accreditation in the next few days,” says Mario Grégoire, president and CEO of CDPSF, in a statement.

“The nature of compliance has changed. Financial services professionals operate in an environment that requires them to learn a growing number of techniques and regulations that may have a profound impact on their operations and lead to greater penalties in the event of a violation. The CDPSF encourages all financial services professionals to adopt a proactive compliance approach and consider the value of an effective program,” adds Grégoire.

The CDPSF is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide Quebec financial services professioanls with customized services and support, promote their common interests, their profession and strengthen the bonds of trust and professional solidarity.
