Canadian Western Trust Co. has opened a new office in Toronto to better service its clients in Ontario and Atlantic Canada, the subsidiary of Canadian Western Bank said Thursday.
CWT also announced today the appointment of Darcy Steep and Rick Wood as directors of business development (Ontario) for CWT’s individual retirement and investment services (IRIS) and corporate & group services (CGS) divisions, respectively.
Steep joins CWT’s IRIS division with over 10 years of financial services industry experience, most recently with one of Canada’s oldest and most broadly diversified wealth management companies.
Wood joins CWT’s CGS division from the private client services segment of the industry and has worked with two of the largest trust companies in Canada. He brings over 15 years of experience in creating and managing client relationships.
“Many of CWT’s clients are small to medium-sized business owners and independent financial advisors — a segment of the market that we feel is underserved by Canada’s larger trust companies,” says Scott Scobie, general manager of CWT.
“With the opening of this Toronto office, we are further enhancing our commitment to provide clients with superior service, as well as a more creative, solution oriented and forward-thinking approach of doing business. Darcy and Rick complete a dynamic client servicing team for CWT in this region.”
The new CWT office is shared with CWT’s affiliate, Valiant Trust Co., and is located at Suite 2950, 130 King Street West.
CWT offers self-directed registered accounts and investment account services to independent financial advisors, mortgage brokers and individuals. It currently administers over $4 billion in assets.
