Toronto-based Bridgehouse Asset Managers is now calling for submissions from Canadian students for the 2014 Bridgehouse Scholarship Program.
Now in its third year, the program (formerly called the Brandes Scholarship Program) offers $2,000 tuition scholarships to 10 students between the ages of 16 and 22 years of age. Previously, the program offered $1,000 scholarships.
Participants must complete a short quiz which will identify their money personality and answer questions such as whether they are spenders or savers, risk-takers or risk-avoider and if they are interested or not in investing. As well, students must submit a 400-500 word essay explaining what they learned about their inner financial self by completing the quiz.
“Canada’s youth need to be money-smart to prepare for their futures and help carry tomorrow’s economy,” said Carol Lynde, president, Bridgehouse Asset Managers. “This means they must be financially literate and aware of investing concepts and terms. The Bridgehouse Scholarship Program provides tools and incentives for teens and young adults not only to learn more about finances and investments, but to implement sound financial strategies.”
Students have from April 1, 2014 and June 30, 2014 to visit www.bridgehousescholarship.com and submit their quiz results and essays. Submissions may be made in English or French.
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges consisting of financial professionals and announced on August 15, 2014.
