BlackRock Inc.’s 500 global job cuts aren’t confined to any specific region, a spokesperson from the firm says.
Bloomberg reported Thursday that BlackRock is cutting 500 jobs globally, representing 3% of staff. A spokesperson confirmed this to Investment Executive but did not share the number of Canadian jobs eliminated, saying, “We are not breaking out individual regions. The departures are global in nature with no one particular regional really impacted more than another.”
The cuts represent the largest reduction in headcount since 2016, the Bloomberg report said.
